| C02 Emission and Energy Consumption
Whenever you consume energy, you emit a certain amount of CO2 which can cause global climate change which will eventually destroy our world. The Philippines and other agricultural countries will suffer more than any other country, if we will not act now. Trees absorb CO2 and that is what our research is all about. We will be creating a software that will simulate the CO2 emission and Energy consumption of a household and provide necessary solutions to reduce the or absorb CO2 emission and also to reduce energy consumption.
Software Inputs
For each appliance the user will be asked to input
- watts - ave. hours used per day - # of units
Additional input
- Ave. Liters of LPG per month - Ave. Liters of Gasoline per Month - # of people in the household
Software Outputs: - Estimated Monthly Bill (Based on DLPC generation charge) - Monthly KwH used - CO2 (tons) - # of full grown trees -- combination (type of trees) -- C02 absorbtion - Contribution to Temp. Rise - Bar Graph of appliances vs. CO2 emission and bar graph of appliances vs. Energy Consumption - Recommendations to reduce CO2 emission and Energy Consumption.
Scope: - Household Appliances - CO2 Emission - LPG - Fuel used in cars, vans and motorcycles.
Delimitation: - Energy consumption is limited to Electricity, LPG and Fuels used in vehicles stated in the scope. - Greenhouse gas emission is limited to CO2 - Limited to home appliances only | |

| Sir, We will be using Mains AC: Non-invasive from Open Energy Monitor to monitor energy consumption of the whole house, The Mains AC will transmit it's readings to ArduinoComm Software (An open source software under the GNU license and developed as part of the OpenEnergymonitor.org project). Our adviser and co-author of our technical research is Trystan Lea, from Snowdonia, North Wales. He started the OpenEnergyMonitor Project which is a project to develop and build open source energy monitoring and analysis tools for energy efficiency and distributed renewable microgeneration. Details of his work can be found at www.openenergymonitor.org. As proof, the screenshot below is an email from him saying that he will be advising us and will be co-authoring our technical research.
